SHIELD

one step coating system

NO PRIMER REQUIRED
AGmaster SHIELD is the first protective coating system developed specifically for the fertilizer and agricultural chemical industry that combines the benefits of a primer and finish coat in one application.

SAVE TIME AND MONEY
SHIELD will cut your painting time and labor expense in half by eliminating the need to prime each tank, then wait, and finally apply a finish coat.

LOOKS GREAT LONGER
SHIELD uses urethane technology that is resistant to UV light, meaning you'll get a high-gloss finish that won't chalk off, lasting much longer than ordinary coatings.

EASY TO APPLY
SHIELD uses two components that mix easily together, and can be applied by brush, roller, air or airless spray systems. High product solids allow you to achieve great results with any application method.

COSTS LESS
SHIELD and the entire AGmaster product family are designed for your tough environment. They last longer, ultimately saving you substantial time and money in maintaining your equipment over its lifetime.

DIRECTIONS

DIRECTIONS
The surface must be cleaned of all oil, grease, salt and other contaminants with AGmaster Prep Surface Cleaner. Previously painted surfaces should be scuff-sanded to remove any gloss and maximize adhesion. Rusted surfaces should be scraped, wire brushed or power tool cleaned (SSPC-SP-2 or-3) to remove all loose rust, scale or deteriorated paint. For optimum corrosion resistance in moderate to severe exposures, abrasive blast to SSPC-SP-6 or SSPC-SP-10. Galvanized metal should be cleaned of all loose rust, white rust or deteriorated old coating by hand or power tool, or brush off blasting (SSPC-SP-2, -3, or -7).

MIXING AND THINNING
SHIELD is a two-component system comprised of Part A (one-gallon can) and Part B (one-quart can). Power mix Part A to obtain a smooth texture. Add Part B into Part A container slowly while mixing and continue mixing for 10 minutes. For spray applications apply immediately, no induction time is required. Allow 30 minutes of induction time for brush or roller application. Once opened, Part B must be used within one week. Do not mix more material than can be used within the specific pot life.

Thinning is not recommended under normal conditions. If difficulty develops when handling through spray equipment, thing with AGmaster ShieldThinner. Use small amounts of thinner, as excessive thinning will affect performance.

APPLICATION
Outdoor application is not recommended under windy and/or excessively humid conditions. Apply by brush, roller or spray when air and surface temperatures are between 40˚-100˚ degrees F (5˚-38˚ C), and surface temperature is 5˚ degrees F (3˚ C) above the dew point. Recommended Film Thickness is 5.0 to 8.3 wet mils to obtain 3.0 to 5.0 dry mils.

Air spray equipment: use .05" - .07: tip at 25-60 psi.
Airless Spray Equipment: use .013" - .017" tip at 1800-3000 psi.
Pot Life: 2-3 hours at 70˚ F with 50% relative humidity, 1.5 - 2.5 hours at 70˚ F with 80% relative humidity.
